Smales Fish Merchants & Brim - A New Direct Icelandic Supply Partnership
Smales are proud to announce that we have agreed a new direct supply partnership for 2012 with Brim for the regular supply of 'Brim Seafood' Frozen at Sea Cod & Haddock fillets from their 'Kleifaberg' vessel.
Even though Brim was founded in 1998, it has over 50 years of skilled catching and processing experience. Brim plays a significant part in the Icelandic fishing industry, employing almost 200 people and currently holding a total quota of 15 thousand metric tonnes, of which 4 thousand are whole Cod.

A family run business, Brim's success has been built on the core values of owning and utilizing reliable vessels, selecting only the highest quality raw material, and providing a good working environment for the fishermen - whilst at the same time ensuring that all required environmental standards are met.
Consistency of quality is also a vital aspect of Brim Seafood's production and this is expertly overseen on board the vessel by the two captains of the Kleifaberg, Vidir Jonsson and Saemundur Arnason, one of whom has been working on board the vessel for 20 years, as well as the rest of the crew who have many years service with the company. This experienced, knowledgeable work force ensures Brim can provide customers with Cod & Haddock fillets of only the highest quality and specification.
By coordinating different resources such as allocated permissible catch, financial resources and good management, along with the knowledge and experience of its members of staff, Brim has secured excellent results and takes its place amongst the best fishing companies in Iceland.
Brim Seafood Frozen At Sea Fillets from the Kleifaberg vessel are now available from our national sales office and, as two family owned companies in partnership, Smales look forward to working with Brim in the year ahead.
