Smales are based & were founded in Kingston Upon Hull, East Yorkshire - a great city which we have always been proud to call home. It is the 8th largest city in the UK with a population of almost 250,000 people, rising to almost 500,000 in the East Riding catchment area.

Situated on the Humber Estuary, Hull has strong links with the fishing industry and is still a major port for containerised fresh fish - particularly from Iceland. However, with changing trends & a decline in the fishing industry, Hull has diversified into a city that celebrates it’s heritage whilst still moving forward into a modern, cultured city.

With a combination of cobbled streets, unique visitor attractions, a beautiful waterfront location, diverse shops & some fantastic pubs & clubs, there is a reason for everyone to visit Hull. Rated in the top 15 city destinations in The Guardian/Observer Travel Awards, visitors are coming to Hull from all over the world citing its beauty, shopping facilities, parks and visitor attractions as the main reason for their visit.
